Flora and fauna
The accommodation is located near the Natural Park of River Sile, founded in 1991. It covers 3000 hectares in its entirety, and is characterised by the copious resurgences and wealth of woods within its territory. You will find there a singular ecosystem consisting of numerous small animals as well as aquatic plants, reeds, shrubs and forest vegetation, making this an ideal place for absorbing nature, enjoying a walk along the banks or a boat trip.
In autumn and winter the park is one of the steps of water birds migrations that stop in the most open and largest areas of the river. For bird lovers, it is possible to admire Cormorants, Great Crested Grebes, Little Grebe, Ducks, and also Germano Reale, Moriglione, Moretta, Moretta tabaccata, Gadwall, Teal and a myriad of Gulls.
Three evergreen plant species dominate most of the landscape of Italy are holly, pine and cork oak. The accommodation itself is surrounded by a large park (15000 sqm) with over three hundred plants.
Social ecosystem
The closest city (only 2 km away) is Treviso, often called one of the "Little Venices" for its canals with buildings rising straight from the water, as well as for the distinctly Venetian lions on its gates. It is an old-world town of narrow streets, many of them lined with arcades, and it is still surrounded by well-preserved 15th-century walls. Take time to walk alongside the walls, or at least to see the three major gateways into the city, Porta San Tommaso, Porta Santi Quaranta, and Porta Altinia. From Porta San Tommaso, built in 1518 at the northeast corner of Treviso, you can walk along the northern rampart, where there are beautiful views of the Alps.
The canals and walls make it a pleasant town to stroll through and admire the many frescoes decorating house façades. And although badly damaged by World War II bombing, Treviso's art-filled churches have been remarkably well restored and are worthwhile tourist attractions.
In the center of Treviso is the picturesque Piazza dei Signori with the Palazzo dei Trecento, built in the late 1100s and once the seat of Treviso's government, and the 15th-century Palazzo del Podestà with the tall Torre del Comune.
If you want to visit Venice, it's only a 45 min drive.
