The initial contact with the owner was great, however towards the last week it was impossible to get any response (using local WhatsApp communications), and left me feeling abandoned and uncertain how to formally conclude the lease.

Neighborhood
The neighborhood itself was (and felt) "safe", with the highly unusual exception being the murder that occurred - during my stay (which happened two blocks away).

Recommended places nearby
I the opportunity to explore the neighborhood and l dined at one of the two local sushi restaurants. Additionally, there were two other venues that I really enjoyed (one was a rooftop lounge, as well as an Italian restaurant. SIDE NOTE: Being from the states we are accustomed to living under the strictly enforced federal mandates - in public restaurants - where smoking is either not allowed, or restricted to certain areas. lt was a culture shock to experience that smoking is not prohibited here in Casablanca - which made the meal and dining experiences less enjoyable for me.
